Epcon Recognized as America’s 19th-largest Private Home Building Company
National publication includes the top-rated home building franchise system on distinguished annual list of top 25 private home building companies
Builder Magazine, a magazine devoted to continual analysis of the homebuilding industry, recently included the Epcon homebuilding franchise system on its annual list of the Top 25 Private Homebuilding Companies in the nation.
This list of private home building companies is an offshoot of the Hanley Wood publication’s annual “The Builder 100” and is determined by the number of sales a company reports in a year. Builder puts together a separate list for privately held companies because “The Builder 100” is “dominated by publicly traded companies,” who have the “benefit of access to investors’ capital and resources,” Hanley Wood says. Epcon Communities Franchising, however, is also on “The Builder 100,” ranking 38th in the 2014 list.

Epcon Home Closings Up 48% Through First Six Months of 2015
Our recognition on Builder Magazine’s annual list of Top 25 Private Homebuilding Companies speaks to the appeal our homes have to a very specific demographic: the 55+ buyer. The fact that the wealthiest home-buying demographic loves our homes is evident in Epcon’s home closing numbers. Epcon reported 465 closings in the first six months of 2015 — 48% higher than the same period of the previous year.
Epcon is rapidly growing around the country
Demand for our award-winning developments continues to increase. Approximately 42 new Epcon Communities, mostly in the Midwest and Southeast, are planned by the end of 2016. The majority of these communities will have 50 to 75 homes and feature our popular detached models. And more Epcon Franchise Builders are joining our home building franchise network in 2015.
The reason for our consistent growth and success across 28 states is simple: demographics. There are 76 million Baby Boomers, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Many plan to buy new homes for retirement that are smaller but offer desirable amenities. Epcon’s home building franchise system is perfectly positioned to capture these buyers. Since our founding in 1986, we have considered the needs of that neglected customer segment — mature home buyers.
