Joel Rhoades has over 30 years of experience with Epcon.

He has most recently been the Columbus Regional President for Epcon Communities, and during that time he has helped build the company’s land holdings and increase the number of homes sold. After over 30 years with the company, he was recently named the new Chief Executive Officer.

Brooks Longfellow is Epcon's first Chief Operating Officer.

He has most recently been the Indianapolis Regional President for Epcon Communities. Previously, he ran operations for a national builder where his region built 2,000 homes per year while being recognized as the top customer-rated builder in the region by J.D. Power.

Dave Blackmore has over 40 years of experience in real estate development and property management.

He has been the Treasurer and CFO of Epcon Communities since 2005. His experience in real estate began as a financial auditor for a national public accounting firm, followed by serving as CFO for a publicly traded real estate company. In 2010, he received CFO of the Year, Honorable Mention from Business First Magazine. He holds a BSBA from The Ohio State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Paul Hanson was appointed President of Epcon Franchising in 2018 and has been involved in the building industry since 2003, serving in various strategic roles involving construction and operations.

Prior to joining Epcon, he served as Group Vice President for Arthur Rutenberg Homes where he led an expansion and development effort that covered a six-state Midwestern market. Prior to that, he was with NVR for over ten years in leadership roles in both Ohio and Florida. Paul is a graduate of Grove City College in Pennsylvania and earned his MBA from the University of Florida in 2009.

Rob Krohn has 25+ years of experience leading marketing, advertising and lead generation strategies.

As the vice president of marketing for Epcon, Rob oversees strategy and execution for all company marketing initiatives. He also serves as a consultant to Epcon’s national network of Franchise Builders. Prior to his current position, Rob oversaw brand management and marketing for Assurex Global, HSG/CodeBlue and HTP (acquired by McKesson). Rob holds a BFA from The University of Akron. Rob speaks frequently at industry conferences on topics such as traditional and digital lead generation, lead conversion techniques, marketing technology, as well as virtual and augmented reality.

Amy McCormick brings over 20 years of real estate sales experience.

She joined Epcon Communities in 2009 and was consistently a top sales performer. She has launched and sold homes in 18 of our communities throughout Columbus, Ohio and Charlotte, North Carolina. In 2018, Amy was promoted to Regional Sales Manager for the Charlotte region. As the National Sales Manager for Epcon Franchising, she shares Epcon’s best practices and assists our Franchise Builders with finding sales talent, sales training and overcoming common objections, holding purposeful community events, launching new communities and helping sales teams thrive.

Caitlin Schrimpf joined Epcon Franchising in 2019.

She has an extensive background in data, analytics and customer support, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Wright State University. Caitlin works directly with Franchise Builders and their teams to ensure they receive the training and resources they need throughout the duration of their Epcon projects.

Courtney Goss joined Epcon Franchising in 2022.

Courtney Goss comes to Epcon from Franklin County Children Services, where she was a motion writing paralegal, and brings experience in legal document drafting. She has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from The Ohio State University and a post-baccalaureate certificate in paralegal studies. She drafts franchise agreements and other legal documentation for Franchise Builders.

Jad Buckman joined Epcon Franchising in November 2016 and has over a decade of franchise experience

Jad is a Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) and has led sales and development efforts of several nationally recognized franchise systems. Prior to his involvement in franchising, Jad worked in finance for Wells Fargo and has a unique understanding of what it takes to get businesses funded. Jess Badinghaus joined Epcon Franchising in 2023.

She graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communications and has a background in both agency and start-up environments. In her role, she assists Epcon Franchise Builders in growing their brand presence and creates content that supports the entire Epcon network.

Josh Klinger was previously a franchisee of three retail locations.

He was previously the purchasing manager for Pulte and brings experience in structuring national accounts and finding the most talented trade partners. He was previously a franchisee with Cold Stone Creamery with three locations in the Columbus area. He also has a real estate license and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo. Josh consults with Franchise Builders and teaches purchasing best practices to help them find the right partners for their projects while controlling costs.

Mats Ahlstrom is a registered architect with more than 20 years of experience.

He is a registered architect with NCARB and CDT certifications. He brings more than 20 years of experience in residential design. Ahlstrom has worked with Epcon Communities since 2004 as a consultant, managing master plan sets and community-specific drawings. Mats has a master’s in architecture from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden.

Rita Ramey joined Epcon Franchising in 2018 with experience in franchise development, franchise law and franchise agreement administration.

She also has a significant amount of expertise in zoning and land use law, commercial development and various land use matters. Rita’s role on the Epcon Franchising team is to provide our Franchise Builders with ongoing account management and support, especially in the area of compliance. Rita works tirelessly to provide best-in-class service and to ensure continued franchisor leadership.

Steve Peck joined Epcon Franchising in 2018 and brings over 20 years of experience in land acquisition and development.

His work includes extensive land projects in Ohio, Kentucky and Georgia. Steve helps Franchise Builders evaluate land options for new projects to determine applicability to project requirements and goals. He has developed financial and other tools and guides that he shares with Franchise Builders so they can make more informed decisions, and is available to collaborate with your project team as you consider land acquisition options. Steve is known for his cool, collected problem resolution skills, no matter what the inevitable land-related surprise!

Taylor Kuhlman joined Epcon in 2021.

He received his bachelor’s degree in Construction Management at Ohio Northern University. As a Building Information Modeling (BIM) designer, he manages our master plan sets, creates lot-specific permit and construction drawings and is fluent in three different drafting software programs – CAD, Revit and Higharc.
