Epcon’s co-founders, Ed Bacome and Phil Fankhauser, love great architecture and well-designed communities, and they have a deep appreciation for how design can improve the lives of homeowners.
Epcon’s home designs are market-researched and field-tested to appeal to our core buyers. We work with architects nationwide to develop floor plans that maximize amenities like open entertainment space, outdoor living, accessible design and plentiful storage.
Builders, particularly new builders, want to get homes up and sold quickly enough to see a timely return on their investment. Epcon’s systems and processes can help with that.
We have thoroughly documented the development and construction process for the homes in our communities — whether it is one of the innovative “pinwheel” fourplex buildings that launched our initial success in 1986, or one of our newer single-family detached homes. Epcon Franchise Builders receive established and tested CAD drawings and specifications, detailed scopes of work for controlling costs, specific benchmarks and national account buying power on construction materials and services.
Because our designs are tested and well-documented, our houses and communities are much easier to build. Our plans allow you to build a home in as little as 90 days — more than twice as fast as the industry average, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2012 Survey of Construction, which revealed that it took an average of seven months for a house to be built once a building permit was issued.
Franchise Builders receive full access to sophisticated marketing materials — including virtual tours and architectural renderings of all our models. These tools allow you to sell customers on your communities before you’ve even built a model home.
A nationwide network of builders
