Wendi and Charlie Gechter of BOA Builders are bringing an Epcon community to Grand Junction, Colorado that is designed with a luxury lifestyle in mind.
For years, their focus was on developing residential subdivisions. Now, they’re turning their experience into building communities around private garden courtyards, thoughtful amenities and a low-maintenance lifestyle.
A New Chapter
Wendi grew up watching her father build homes and communities through BOA Builders, which he founded in the 1980s. Though she spent 20 years in IT healthcare, construction was always part of her world. In 2014, she and her husband Charlie officially took the reins of the business.
Charlie’s background includes everything from home tech installations to law enforcement, but he has always stayed connected to the building industry. When Wendi’s father retired, they decided to go all-in on a shared dream, continuing the family legacy and expanding BOA Builders.
The Gechter’s spent the last nine years developing residential subdivisions and have built over 90 residential homes. Their latest leap forward is launching their first Epcon community in Grand Junction, CO, designed to offer a mix of floor plans for active adults ready to rightsize their home.
“We saw the Epcon plans and the private side courtyard and that’s what first drew me in,” Charlie said. “It fits perfectly with what we want to do.”
Designed With You In Mind
Their upcoming community, Chipeta Hollows, will feature a blend of Epcon’s popular P-series and Carriage series home designs. The Gechter’s plan to prioritize comfort, convenience and connection at their new community with pickleball courts, walking trails, a dog park, a clubhouse with a golf simulator and more.
Why Epcon
For Wendi and Charlie, choosing Epcon wasn’t just about floor plans. It was about joining a trusted network of experienced builders, with proven systems and unmatched support.
“On the residential side of home building, there’s more marketing, pre-sales and the design side of everything.” said Wendi. “Epcon helps with all of that since we’ve never done that before.”
But one of the biggest wins was tapping into Epcon’s expertise in development.
“We have done five or six developments ourselves and I’d say we’re decently versed in that. But even that being said, Epcon’s team has provided all kinds of templates and a different point of view,” Charlie shared. “Working with their team saved us from a $150,000 turn lane installation. That kind of guidance is huge.”
